Fall Friday

I guess nothing says FALL more than hunting season....right?

Kevin has been off work and had his first bow kill. He is so happy to have our property to hunt on and be able to go early and not drive anywhere. The boys were so happy to get outside around noon to find this. I know....it's a little weird that I am totally ok with a dead deer, but when you live with 3 boys it's kinda just "normal". It really doesn't bother me. (I know some of you may un-follow me, but it's just a hobby and I know there are LOTS of men who do it and it's pretty good meat too :)

We have been in full "FALL CRAFT" mode. Thinking of daily crafts to do with the boys is pretty fun for me. Yesterday we painted pie pumpkins. They LOVED it!

Look at that smile and those eyes that are squinty! Karson has really shown here lately some different traits that he may have in his personality. A little shy, loving, very kind and giving, thankful for gifts and family, and a little ok VERY attached to momma.

After the painting of pumpkins got a little old, it was on to the hands for hand prints.

Of course I gave the boys baths BEFORE this......that was a little dumb but hey I try to stick with the routine and we had a little time to kill before bedtime so painting pumpkins it was.

Hope everyone is enjoying fall activities and crafts!

We got flu shots today...what fun with a 3 and 2 year old but we lived :)

Preschool & Time

Karson is having a fun time at preschool on Wednesday & Friday mornings.

The picture on the left was last Wednesday where they learned about Fire Safety and the firetruck came to preschool for them to explore in. Kipton even had time to look around when we went back to pick up Karson. The picture on the right was last Friday. Karson can be very picky about his clothes so I have to choose my battles. He doesn't really care much for long sleeve clothes but I think he is seeing that it's pretty cold in the mornings. He always asks me to roll his sleeves up! lol Who ever said that girls were the high maintenance ones.

I can never get a real good picture of him in the mornings, but I always try!

Kipton eating breakfast. I pretty much dress the boys while they eat. Getting up and out the door by 8:30 is a challenge with 2 kids. I don't know how working moms do it, but I guess getting into the routine everyday helps the most. I am thankful for our time at home on those rushing mornings.

Karson still says that he has a really good friend named Molly at school.

I have been going through some of last year's pictures. Above are the boys last year on Oct. 15, 2011

Below are the boys on Oct. 15, 2012

What a difference 1 year makes! Time is moving way too fast.

Happy Wednesday!

#SkeletonPajamaParty

I am linking up with The Tichenor Family where everyone will
show off their spooky skeleton kiddos :) How fun!!

Our Halloween pajamas for this year aren't the whole skeleton's but rather these spooky ones from The Children's Place that have skeletons on them! Complete with Halloween socks of course.
Thanks Target!!

The boys are super excited for Halloween this year. Many parties to get ready for :)

Fall Pictures

I wanted to share the rest of the pictures I took of the boys.

Some of the best ones came from them sitting in Kevin's tree stand.

FYI: He pulled it down and it was only about 1 foot from the ground :)

Look at that stinker with his tongue out!! Totally Kipton

I love having pictures of the boys. I really love taking them myself.

It saves money, and I know exactly what type of pictures I'm wanting.
The only downfall is that I am never in them, but I guess I could always set the self timer.

It's Sunday! My favorite day.

We had the best service at church this morning.
Here is the video from my favorite song at the time. The band played it this morning. I was soo excited and sang extra loud!!!

Boys

Boys are so many things, but when I think of my own two boys I think about these characteristics: rough, rowdy, loud, energetic, and full of energy! Add in the occasional whining and crying and you have a mental picture of my house.

When Kipton was still a newborn baby I had a friend come over to visit. She also had two boys that were 17 months apart. She said the stage that your boys are in is super easy rather than having two toddlers. I really thought she was crazy. No WAY! How is having a newborn any kind of easy?

Well she was right! This stage in my life is the hardest so far. They are everywhere and into everything. The Type A personality of wanting everything in order, and being in charge is out the window! You can try...but you will be nagging and even screaming all day to keep it that way.

I could have typed up this post with a bunch of hoop that makes you think everything is perfect and my children are so well behaved and life is so grand! But it's not. I want to remember how I dealt with these days that my boys were 3.5 and 2. It's rough I tell ya!! VERY rough. Because this is like my baby book for the boys, I want it to be the truth. Somedays are good, but most days are crazy.

I wish I had the answer on how to raise the best boy so he could grow up to be the best man. But I dont. I am living day to day trying to make it work and get through the day most of the time. I am hoping that our talks and our discipline will someday rub off and the boys WILL turn into those great men. I feel like most days I teach and teach and preach and preach to them on how we SHOULD act and how we SHOULD talk to others.

I think boys are SO hard but then again I don't have girls. I do teach in Karson's Sunday School class and can say that the other boys are following along with the same characteristics as mine. Energetic, full of energy, in their own mindset.

Daily praying is really getting me through right now. Even somedays I question if God is really hearing me, but normally there comes something from my praying. Whether it's a good day, or a lesson taught to me through a struggle.

But, at the end of that long hard day with lots of prayer they are still my babies. I just pray that I am doing the best at raising them.

Parenting is sometimes SO hard, but also so rewarding!

Perspective

I have kept up with many blogs since my blogging days began last year. I love reading along with other moms who are going through the same "season" of life that I am. I think it's so important to know that others are going through the same daily trials that come with raising kids.

One blog I have read along with is Julee's Blog. Julee lost her husband in a car wreck on Saturday night. She also has a 10 month old baby girl. Although I don't know her personally, sometimes it feels like you get to "know" someone when you read their daily blogs.

Since I read about this my heart has been breaking for her. Thinking about it several times throughout the day. It changes perspective for me, and I think sometimes we need that. It is easy to get caught up in the daily life of being a wife, a mom, running errands, and keeping up with the house.

I am so thankful for this guy! Sometimes I do take him for granted. Life would be SO incredible hard without my husband. Not just because he is the sole provider for our family, but because he fills that hole in our family that we need. He is our rock and such a wonderful husband and father to me and our boys. He is the hardest worker I know. No job is ever too big for Kevin.

Using these times to put things in perspective. It's really not about all of the little details in life. What clothes you wear, how much money you make, what kind of car you drive.

It's yours relationships that matter.

I've even realized here lately that friendship relationships will come and go. You can work and work for them, but sometimes they just aren't meant to be anymore. It's time to let go. It's hard but sometimes it's evident that it's what is supposed to be.

My family and my relationship with Jesus is really all that matters.

Please keep the Turner family in your prayers.

Mountaineer Win!

How about that Mountaineer Game last night?

Here are the boys 2 years difference :)

WVU really pulled it out against Texas. Kevin was about to have a heart attack. I think this Big 12 stuff is the real deal. It's going to be a nerve racking season.

My boys were rooting for their team :)

I think I may be turning a corner.....and MAYBE kinda liking the Mountaineers.

Shhhhhh.....

Mountaineer Boys

It's no lie that I am outnumbered with my 2 baby boys and a husband in the house. It is evident every single day that I share a house with all boys: (pee on the seat, leaving clothes all over the house, eating everything we own in 3 days)

It is also very evident that I am also outnumbered when it comes to sports. My boys LOVE being just like their daddy and rooting for their Mountaineers.
I am thankful that they love college football like we do. Just wish it were a little more green!

Friday, Karson had jersey day at preschool. This is the outfit he wore. I didn't get any pictures and I was pretty upset about it but he continued to wear it all day so it was alright. I subbed this past week on Thursday and Friday so Kevin had to take him to preschool. He did great! He wanted to take a snack for his friends so I packed up 30 Halloween Gummy snacks. He LOVED sharing and took it in so happy Kevin said. I think the jersey day + the gummy snacks made his morning so special.

We decided to go out for a Family Date night on Friday. We took the boys mini-golfing. It was so fun to watch them and they really enjoyed it!! I was so surprised at how well they did. Kipton didn't really want anyone to hit their ball and kept taking our balls and holding them. We knew we wouldn't be keeping score, but mainly just teaching them a new hobby and they really loved it.

Then we ate at Cracker Barrel and they boys did GREAT!! It was the best they have ever done in a restaurant. A+

All of the training, talking, discipline seemed to be for something after we left that restaurant. We had 3 different couples tell us how well behaved they were. :) I wish they would be with us all the time and they would see that we are FAR from perfect, but TRYING to do our best at teaching our boys to behave especially in public places.

Since today is the actual Mountaineer game, we had to dress in WVU gear again.

We were invited to Kevin's aunt & uncle's house to pick some pumpkins in their garden. It was so fun and the boys had a blast.

Uncle John giving rides

Daddy and Kip taking a ride

Looking at his huge pumpkin patch. Uncle John ALWAYS gives the boys big suckers and Karson wouldn't let go of his. That is the first question they have for him is if he has any suckers.

We ended up coming home with 8 pumpkins straight from his garden. I was so happy to get them because the boys and I are hosting a "Pumpkin Carving" party for our Mother's Club. They will be put to good use in a few weeks.

I LOVE all things fall. Pumpkin picking, college football, and cute boys being 3 of them!

What we've been up to!

The boys have been enjoying LOTS of time outside now that our weather is so nice. It's their favorite place to be. Just hiking around, playing, riding their power wheel cars, and anything to do with the outdoors is always fun for them.

It is hard to get them inside some days..

We have been enjoying football for both Marshall and WVU. Can you tell that Kipton is going through the "I don't want my picture taken" phase? HAHA! Love his heart.

He has been going through some pretty rough days with teething. A small fever, and lots of chewing, and crying about his mouth hurting. I am 99% sure he has the 2 bottom 2 year old molars and is working on the top 2. I will so happy when they are all in and we are done with new teeth.

We have been staying pretty busy with the Mother's Club.

Lots of playdates, park time, parades, and bounce house fun. Making new friends, and catching up with old friends. I think the bounce house is worth every penny. They both took 3 hour naps after this morning.

Karson is battling "fall allergies". We are now trying a new medicine to keep him from being so puffy and stopped up. Hoping that things ease up a bit, but I am thinking it is from being out in the country with all of the trees/pollen falling.

He is enjoying preschool and loves his friends there. He has 6 teachers in his 3 year old class and they rotate centers where he is working on numbers, letters, counting, arts/crafts, singing, social time, and playground time. Since the 2nd day at school he has been talking about "Molly". She is a girl at school who Karson ADORES!! Each day after school he tells me that he kissed Molly.

The first day he said this...I was floored! Now we think it's kinda funny and it will be something we will tell him someday. I still haven't met Molly yet, but I have been trying to figure out who her parents are without being crazy asking around. I am pretty sure she gets picked up in the car line rather than the walk up line and that is why I have yet to meet Miss. Molly. But....the time will come :) I can't wait to get that picture of the two of them to have forever.

I have been making shirts like crazy for the boys. I love appliqueing!

I actually hosted a party last night for our Mother's night out where we got together and ate yummy fall foods, talked, crafted, talked, and ate some more! It was a blast. We had a great time and can't wait for the next craft/Pinterest party! I will post pictures from that soon.

Kipton is really enjoying Karson being at preschool too! I thought that he would miss him and ask for him the entire 2 1/2 hours but he doesn't. He happily says goodbye to bubby and we are on our way out. We normally run errands and make a park trip.

It is so fun watching him grow. I tell him he is my baby and he quickly tells me that he's a big boy.

You always hear people saying that "your kids grow so fast!" Some days I think of the future and how much easier it "should" get with these two wild boys. But in the midst of these loud and rowdy days I am so happy to watch them grow and stay little. I will never get these days back!

Happy October!

Happy 1st day of October!

One of my FAVORITE months. It's so fun! The boys and I are having a day at home today because the rest of our week is super busy. It seems like Fall time is so busy.

The boys and I went on a hike this  morning before the rain came. They love getting out and looking for nuts and deer tracks. Karson normally leads the way and is so willing to find a good rock for us to sit on and listen for "bears".

There has been many moments over the last few weeks of mere sibling fighting. Not sure where it came from all of a sudden, but boy is it brutal! I am TRYING (hoping/praying) to keep my patience and train these soldiers into great men someday.

Here is our new "management strategy" (insert teacher voice) HAHA!

I am thankful for being home with these boys.

They can fight one minute and be best friends the next.
