How is the weather where you are? Here in West Virginia we are experiencing more and more cooler mornings and cool evenings. It is so nice to sit on the porch and watch the kids play. </div>

We will be making apple butter in a few weeks. We have pumpkins growing in the garden. Mums on the porch. Leaves on the ground. Fall is most certainly here. </div>

Would you hand your child a rattlesnake? Of course you wouldn’t! Rattlesnake bites can be deadly. What kind of question is that? I would never hand my child something I knew had the power to destroy them, would you?</div>
<div style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; clear: left; color: #363431; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 17px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
For some time now the effects of technology on our children has weighed heavy on my mind. We see our children struggling to even know how to communicate. We see children together, but they might as well be home alone because there was no communication between them, instead they all set completely lost in their device, scrolling through Instagram, snapchatting, taking a selfie, or playing the latest, greatest game. We’ve seen a rise in depression and loneliness in this generation from the effects of it. The only friendships some seem to create are virtual.</div>
<h3 style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; color: #a09a92; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 2.5rem; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.6; margin: 2em 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
Now if those things were the only issues with technology there might would be an argument on the deadliness of it.</h3>
<div style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; color: #363431; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 17px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
Lack of communication, Instagram, snapchat, taking a selfie, or playing a game may not be deadly altogether, but the effects of it very well can be if there are no limits set. When I was a child we didn’t deal with technology like we do today, and I thank God for it. I didn’t have to struggle with it, and my parents didn’t have to deal with having to protect us from that. The internet wasn’t in our home and I don’t recall even knowing there was such a thing until after I was married. Move forward a few generations and now technology basically controls our world. It’s everywhere, and it draws our children more than anything I know of. Many restaurants have it on their tables, you can now use it to order a cheeseburger at McDonald’s, many of the toys we buy our children are somehow connected to it. It has become our #1 babysitter. It is so dominant that we feel everything has to somehow be connected to it to really make our children happy. As a mother I agree with anyone that it’s tough dealing with it. I honestly wish it would just go away because it would make raising my children so much easier.</div>
<h3 style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; color: #a09a92; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 2.5rem; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.6; margin: 2em 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
By now you may be asking yourself what any of this has to do with rattlesnakes, let me explain.</h3>
<div style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; color: #363431; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 17px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
Here (your Childs name) is your first device, (iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc.) Congratulations! I know you are only twelve, but I went ahead and bought the latest device, with the latest technology on it. I know I can set restrictions on it, or even turn your internet off, but I want you to know that I trust you. I know many of your school friends, and possibly even some church friends have no restrictions and I don’t want you feeling left out. Their parents trust them, and I trust you. I know you can handle this! Now be careful because there are things you don’t need to see or become involved in, but again, I trust you. Here is your “<em style="border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">rattlesnake</em>“, enjoy.</div>
<div style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; color: #363431; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 17px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
Your child is now eighteen and has been addicted to pornography since he or she was thirteen. They’ve seen so much violence with the games they’ve played, the videos they’ve watched, and the filth they have seen has infiltrated their innocent minds. Freedom from it seems impossible! The battles they are fighting in their minds are driving them to the breaking point with sleepless nights, immorality, and some even thoughts of suicide. As a parent you wondered why your child seemed distant, depressed or secretive at times, but you put the blame on the adolescent years. You knew what a great child they was, and even tho from time to time you casually mentioned the dangers of the device, you felt they were strong enough to handle the temptations behind the screen. Instead they’ve been bitten by the “<em style="border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">snake</em>” that has proved to be deadly to so many innocent children.</div>
<h3 style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; color: #a09a92; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 2.5rem; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.6; margin: 2em 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
In reality your child feels hurt because you handed them such a deadly device you trusted them with, and never set any restrictions or boundaries for them.</h3>
<div style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; color: #363431; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 17px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
You’ve created a monster for them to fight, possibly for the rest of their lives. You want to be mad at them because you trusted them, but instead they broke that trust and looked up such things during those curious years…how dare they do that!! Parents, in reality I wouldn’t blame your child for crushing the device in front of you, and saying thanks!! Thanks for trusting me, by trusting me I’ve almost been destroyed. I struggle to think straight, I struggle to know what normal even is. The “<em style="border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">rattlesnake</em>” that I was bitten by almost proved to be deadly. Why didn’t you tell me how venomous the device could be? Dad and Mom, I will never get those pictures out of my mind. I wish you hadn’t trusted me so much. I wish you had set boundaries for me, had restrictions turned on, or completely turned the internet off. Dad and Mom you were right, I was a good kid, but good kids are curious and can’t hold a deadly snake without being bitten.</div>
<h3 style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; color: #a09a92; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 2.5rem; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.6; margin: 2em 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
What price are you willing to pay for your child to fit in? Are you more concerned about hurting their feelings, or making them feel like you don’t trust them?</h3>
<div style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; color: #363431; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 17px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
This was written from the heart of a mother that is trying to raise her children in a Godly, Christian home while dealing with technology. I find myself revisiting boundaries and restrictions often. My children don’t own phones, but my fourteen year old son has an iPad. We keep his internet turned completely off, and YouTube is definitely a no-no. We make sure there are no violent games, and I check his messages from friends almost daily, but I question myself often if that is enough.</div>
<h3 style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; color: #a09a92; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.6; margin: 2em 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If I thought my child was holding a rattlesnake I would do everything in my power to remove it from his hands before he was bitten.</span></h3>
<div style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; color: #363431; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-size: 17px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
If you are a Parent or guardian of a child and technology looms over your home, would you consider revisiting your boundaries and restrictions? If you have no boundaries, or restrictions can I remind you that what you’ve given your child is as harmful as the snake I mentioned. Consider the innocence of your child and the damage that this “<em style="border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">bite” </em>can do to him or her. Also, remember the snake doesn’t go to sleep at midnight.</div>
<h3 style="background-color: #faf9f5; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; clear: both; color: #a09a92; font-family: Karla, sans-serif; font-weight: 400; line-height: 1.6; margin: 2em 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-size: large;">“The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame .” Proverbs 29:15 KJV</span></h3>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Life has been busy around here! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Spring has brought rainy and hot days here in West Virginia. Today was 85. This is not typical spring for us, but I do enjoy the cooler mornings and evenings and warmer afternoons.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Many new and exciting things have been happening around the farmhouse. The first I want to share with you is our baby chicks. Our two older boys wanted some baby chicks, so we loaded up one Saturday morning and went off to the chick store. They had saved their money for this. They bought 7 Buff Orphingtons, chick feed, and shavings for their house. We had everything else.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They have grown quite a bit since we bought them. Here they were today outside getting some sun. For now as they are still so small, we keep them locked up tight so no critters can get to them. We bring them out and watch them and then put them back. This is until they are older and can free range.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The next thing I want to share with you, is our garden. We have everything planted now. The boys and I did the whole thing by ourselves. I have to brag on my older boys who are 10 and 8. They help me so much. Everything is growing well, and we are trying our best to keep it weeded! Here is a picture of our lettuce from today. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The lettuce is not the only thing growing at our farmhouse. This baby of ours is almost 9 months old and is growing like a weed. We may have to grow 2 gardens to keep up with feeding him. HAHA. He sure does love to eat. The baby food stage is over now. He wants the real fruit and veggies. We love him so much, and so thankful God saw fit for us to have our 4th son. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope spring is treating you well wherever you are. </div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Good Wednesday afternoon! My two little boys are down for a nap, so I am able to post. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here in West Virginia, we are still having snow. Thankfully it is just a dusting here and there. My boys have had two days this week where they have a delay in the morning. Going to school at 9:30 is very nice! I wish it were always that short of a day. I </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think everyone is ready for spring days. Winter can be long. I know the Lord uses it to prepare us for the longer days in spring and summer. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The smell of the clean air, the leaves budding from the trees, and the green grass. I just can't wait to get out in the warmth of spring.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Even though we still have a few more weeks until it's offically spring, I added some touches of spring around the home. I re use my decor from year to year, and buy just a few new things. My favorite store is Hobby Lobby. I can spend hours in there just looking. I think my boys have become a fan as well. They love looking too! One thing I also love about Hobby Lobby is the music. I know I am still a young woman (33) but the music in stores now just makes me want to run right back out and head for my quiet home. Walmart has started to really be the worst in the loud music. I can't seem to remember why I went in there. I am running from the music. I love the Christian instrumental music. I wish more stores would catch on to that!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyways, onto some pictures of my spring touches.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Some forsynthia and greenery on the kitchen table. I love the red check too! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My plate wall in the dining room area are Pioneer Woman plates. Love her line of kitchen ware from Walmart. So pretty and affordable.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2Oi8pSSLBT0/XIAH_cn97EI/AAAAAAAALa0/ZRu-fqMABAAzEAGm09rvTKGVhxaLr7xtgCLcBGAs/s1600/20190306_124200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2Oi8pSSLBT0/XIAH_cn97EI/AAAAAAAALa0/ZRu-fqMABAAzEAGm09rvTKGVhxaLr7xtgCLcBGAs/s400/20190306_124200.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Calendars! I have had this LANG calendar holder for many many years. I bought at a primitive store probably 11 years ago. Each year I order a LANG calendar to hang. I like to look for ones that have the months that go along with each season. When I flipped to March just a few days ago, it was so pretty and "springy". My family loves this calendar. I have wanted to move it out of the kitchen area, but my husband has asked me to keep it here. It is nice for everyone to be able to write things down and we can all look at it, and keep up with events coming up. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I will be adding some more things around the home in the coming weeks. I will try and keep you up to date. I also have been working on updating our two older boy's rooms and we did a complete re model on their bathroom. I will try and keep this blog updated more often. It all depends on nap time around here :) </center>

There is something to be said about a baby sleeping in their bed. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9CYHG3DV6mk/XD6YgYpbiuI/AAAAAAAALWI/Znn9ha1tnFQTcMx36aead1zvLhBhp98EACLcBGAs/s1600/20190115_125145-01.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9CYHG3DV6mk/XD6YgYpbiuI/AAAAAAAALWI/Znn9ha1tnFQTcMx36aead1zvLhBhp98EACLcBGAs/s400/20190115_125145-01.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It just feels right to them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They are at such peace. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Children need rest. They need a good schedule and a well ordered home to rest within.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Our children have all loved their bed. I see many children who are able to fall asleep any and everywhere. Restaurants, in the stroller, church. I have rarely had that happen with our boys. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They like to be in their own bed. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Babies and toddlers take naps every day. The baby takes 3 naps per day. I love that he is able to take all of them in his own bed. Our toddler son too. Daily, in the afternoon, we all lay down for a quiet nap.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
At home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course there are days, we must go out for groceries and such but I love being able to stay home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is my favorite place to be.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

</div>
Christmas has come and gone....<br />
<br />
The newness of the toys have worn off.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
It's back to nature for my boys. Running, jumping, building, working are daily practices here on our four acres. Our second oldest son wanted to buy for his best friend (his older brother). I had taken him out for some mom/son time alone and we went shopping. He quickly knew what his brother would love to have.<br />
<br />
Some rope.<br />
<br />
You see, boys who LOVE being outside don't need toys. They love rope, tarp, wood, knives. Anything that they can build with. That rope opened on Christmas was one of the most sought after gifts. Plans were quickly drawn up on paper on how to use this rope for their fort building. A $2.00 rope, was the best gift given that day.<br />
<br />
It doesn't take much.<br />
<br />

On Thanksgiving, we gathered at my parent's home with all of my family and my sister's family. She has invested in a nice camera and wanted to take some pictures of everyone. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was a chilly day. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We rushed out the front door into the yard to capture our lives at this time. I don't know about you, but in the moment taking pictures of the whole family can seem unpleasant at times. Getting everyone settled, and situated. Getting them to look at the camera, and smile. Making noise so the baby will look the way of the camera. Making sure we aren't slouching, and that we semi match. Finding the best backdrop with nothing in view but nature, etc, etc. We try so hard to make it picture perfect. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oMJYqmwFw2k/XBYv3WGsgSI/AAAAAAAALTk/3lEVTb1TsxsKWi8S6-78a5FpLW3z3DLvgCLcBGAs/s1600/Resized_DSC_1325_websize_2445.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1040" data-original-width="1600" height="260" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oMJYqmwFw2k/XBYv3WGsgSI/AAAAAAAALTk/3lEVTb1TsxsKWi8S6-78a5FpLW3z3DLvgCLcBGAs/s400/Resized_DSC_1325_websize_2445.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After getting finished with picture taking, the children have had enough. They wanted to play after all. So running about they went. Playing ball outside, and running here and there around the yard with cousins. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When the time comes to view your pictures, isn't it always fun to see what was captured? In the moment I thought there is not going to be one decent picture for my home. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What I really should have said was "this isn't going to be picture perfect". I was reminded by my husband who is Mr. Laid Back that it doesn't always have to be picture perfect. He said "Stacy, they are children who want to play. Yes, they should listen and obey when told to look the cameras way, but boys especially do not want to sit all day playing smile to the camera". I huffed and walked off. You see, growing up as a girly girl with just a sister we loved to pose and smile for the camera. How could anyone not like this I thought. But after thinking over and over about what my patient and loving husband had said.....he was exactly right. It doesn't always have to be picture perfect. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Not this picture, nor our lives. If I was being honest I would say I strive to have perfection in a lot of areas in my life. But why? It is something I have asked God for help with. I don't need the most clean home, or the best cooked meals every night. My children don't need a mother who is looking her best 24/7 or shopping for the best and most fashionable clothes for everyone. They need time with me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Time is the best gift I could give them. My time in listening, talking, praying with. Being picture perfect is not what God has called me to be.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Instead he has called me to be a wife and mother. Not picture perfect. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: Georgia, Times, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center; vertical-align: baseline;">

Hello! It's December!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It has been a long time since I've written on here. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A new baby and three busy boys are taking up each second of my time, and I love it! They are all doing well, and the baby is now 3 months old. He is a true precious gift from God above. A gift I didn't know we needed, but the Lord sure does work his will instead of ours. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-e-3yLOWyBtY/XBJTm5qTe9I/AAAAAAAALSk/3Q9PyOXmRQ8MCk0Myr1vgFhCriDqBCqrQCLcBGAs/s1600/85e15e74dd5b1fed9221f911f5e21f1d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="250" data-original-width="250" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-e-3yLOWyBtY/XBJTm5qTe9I/AAAAAAAALSk/3Q9PyOXmRQ8MCk0Myr1vgFhCriDqBCqrQCLcBGAs/s1600/85e15e74dd5b1fed9221f911f5e21f1d.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today I wanted to share an idea about Christmas that my children just love. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When it is time to get the Christmas decor down from the attic around Thanksgiving, one of the most anticipated items that they are standing at the bottom of the ladder for, are the Christmas books. I have them in a basket up in the attic and getting them down each year makes them new and exciting again. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CwqkXOJjgnw/XBJP-XT8_CI/AAAAAAAALSM/x0DY2HD6kDIjujp0l94jzUOzUpROTEdGQCLcBGAs/s1600/28fcb642f419f7739a4623318694d02e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="880" data-original-width="736" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CwqkXOJjgnw/XBJP-XT8_CI/AAAAAAAALSM/x0DY2HD6kDIjujp0l94jzUOzUpROTEdGQCLcBGAs/s320/28fcb642f419f7739a4623318694d02e.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The boys can't wait to read them all. I have a mixture of Christ centered ones, and then some fun ones about Santa too. I try to pick up a Christmas book or two each year to add to the collection. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Having the books sitting in a basket under the Christmas tree are a great reminder to the children to read. The TV, games, and technology in general seems to take over childrens love for reading these days. Not in our home. Our boys (old and young) all really love to read. You will find our 9 year old son reading a book to our 3 year old most days. As well as our 8 year old son, reading to his dog each night. As a child, I wasn't given much reading time with the coming and going of too many extracurricular activities that I was involved in. Looking back on my childhood, I wish I had taken the love for reading more serious. It really does broaden the mind and create an imagination like no other. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sYvqHQ1ppe0/XBJRkM3g54I/AAAAAAAALSY/qqIfxZf_qfk1RWJaPKBdhkrWVdJBDVUfACLcBGAs/s1600/782a2778ea09bf0cb31f4204454af77e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="879" data-original-width="736" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sYvqHQ1ppe0/XBJRkM3g54I/AAAAAAAALSY/qqIfxZf_qfk1RWJaPKBdhkrWVdJBDVUfACLcBGAs/s320/782a2778ea09bf0cb31f4204454af77e.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope this is a tradition you start because the children just love going through them each year!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy Reading!!</div>

We have been blessed by this baby in the 2 months that he has been with us. I am a bit behind as you can tell keeping my blog up to date. I love to keep writing for the memories. That one day, my boys may read. They bring us joy each day!!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hobby Lobby makes it easy for us to create and decorate our homes. It is such a pleasant experience for us to shop there. I can't tell you how many times I'm in a store with such loud music that I want to leave quickly after. Hobby Lobby is not that way.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is nice to go and look around at the different ideas they have to help you decorate your house into a home. It can get overwhelming at times. I go with a plan.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ex: Today I'm going to look for a sign to go in the bathroom, or materials for a new wreath. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The other day the boys and I were browsing through looking for wreath materials because their floral was 50% off this week. A great time to make a new wreath. I already had the grapevine wreath in the garage, so I was going for a late summer/early fall look on our front door.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fA6SK8QuyyU/W3h7tBhqnQI/AAAAAAAALPg/Us0nSXjH_jEMq9I0ajo-R-ZaV6OprF7OACLcBGAs/s1600/20180817_082946.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fA6SK8QuyyU/W3h7tBhqnQI/AAAAAAAALPg/Us0nSXjH_jEMq9I0ajo-R-ZaV6OprF7OACLcBGAs/s400/20180817_082946.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The boys and I picked these sunflowers and spikes that were all on sale, and this Buffalo check ribbon that I used my coupon on. Mr. Owl was in the fall section and he went right along with the buffalo check ribbon. He too was on sale for 40% off. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The boys were so proud of the finished product and told me many times that it looked amazing!!! :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just a love for decor on a budget! </div>

I read a book this week titled "Almost Amish" that I rented from the library. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
It was an interesting book that was written by a wife and mother who wanted to make her life more simple. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
She had everything and more. Living the "American Dream" as people say. However, her and her husband and their children were not happy. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
Why you say? They were living on a very large doctor salary. They had every gadget and toy and fancy decor that you could buy. But still not happy. Their life felt meaningless. Empty.</center>
<center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_r8Bbjm1dBY/WRyQnemyiHI/AAAAAAAAK9c/zp8kRTXeaZwY-Odv4zFUhp1dZcLGQIO9gCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/20170516_182231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_r8Bbjm1dBY/WRyQnemyiHI/AAAAAAAAK9c/zp8kRTXeaZwY-Odv4zFUhp1dZcLGQIO9gCPcBGAYYCw/s400/20170516_182231.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
She realized soon, that they needed Christ in their life. They realized they were empty without him. </center>
<center>
They made some changes. Then made even more changes. By the end they were living in a very small home, and he had totally quit his job as a doctor in order to serve the Lord and spread the gospel. Wow, it was an encouragement. What would I say to my husband if he came home and said "I quit my job today to serve the Lord". </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
What happened? They all became happy with their new life. A more simple life. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
I guess it goes to show we do live in a world full of abundance, but we don't really need all that we think we do.</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
Sometimes I think my children deserve more. More things, better clothes, exciting toys, but really they don't. Looking back on my childhood I can't remember what toy I got on my 6th birthday or even my 13th birthday. But I do remember the relationships I had, and the memories of going to church and serving others. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
So today I say, being thankful with what you do have is important. We are working on this with our oldest two boys now. Just this morning before church they were complaining of not having a "new" notebook to take notes in at church. We explained that the notebooks they have aren't old. They are written in, and used. There is nothing wrong with that. There is no need for new. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
Teaching contentment in our world today is hard. We can say it to our children, but we must show it. I know I am not always the best example. But I want to be. I want to strive for that. </center>
<center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QMWwXM9SMLs/WgLmxd5hrpI/AAAAAAAALH4/HrhqUwh452kLDmA_rIiNGUnd4tlRNQ8TACPcBGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_6165.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1067" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QMWwXM9SMLs/WgLmxd5hrpI/AAAAAAAALH4/HrhqUwh452kLDmA_rIiNGUnd4tlRNQ8TACPcBGAYYCw/s400/IMG_6165.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
The bible tells us not to have worldly minds. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
We can't store up treasures in this earthly life. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
I am praying for guidance for my own life. </center>

</center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you have ever been to an Amish community, you know that you see many wonderful sights. People drive hours, and spend money for a vacation to visit these communities, but for what reason? </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What are we wanting to see and experience? </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What are we longing for?</span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What do they have, that we can't have?</span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I know for me it is the peaceful, calm, quiet, and beautiful atmosphere that the community has. You see men who are out in the fields working on their land. No, they are not just working on the land for fun or entertainment. They are working the land for their own personal food, and income for their family. This is their life at stake. You see them taking the cows out to the pasture to eat, so that one day they become meat for the family. You see them painting the house so that their home looks neat and orderly. You see them driving their buggies to the hardware store to pick up lumber for their new barn about to go up with help from many other Amish men. You see them tending the gardens to be able to sell at their produce stand. This is their life. </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">You see women hanging laundry on the line, sweeping their porches, driving their buggies to the grocery store with their children in the back. You see them covered modestly with their attire. They are normally very quiet and reserved if you would see them in the stores. They are not loud and boastful about anything. </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<center style="text-align: start;">

<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">You see the children who are quiet and respectful in any situation you may see them. They are behaved extremely well, and it gives you a sense of peace to watch them play happily in the yard with no toys. We visited a barn sale on our last trip to Berlin, Ohio and as we walked into the barn to see the sale, the 3 children were the ones who were running the money and the sale. Answering questions from the customers, but also being quiet and respectful in all of their answers. They are content with being home. They are content with their life.</span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">

Why can't we create this for ourselves?</span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">No, we are not Amish. We do not worship the way they do. However, to have a simple, orderly lifestyle is not very hard to do.</span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We can slow ourselves down. We really need to do this. </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It is a much healthier lifestyle. </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1. Take time to tend the garden without running to the grocery store for every little item. We can make due with what we have, and sell things in order to get what we need.</span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2. Keep up with the cleaning of the home. Use a cleaning schedule, or totally de clutter in order to keep the house orderly. When you tend to the house daily it won't be a HUGE overwhelming mess. You never see a disorderly Amish home. </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3. Teach your children and yourself to be content with what you have. There is no reason for your kids to have many shoes and clothes. In our home our boys have 3 pairs of shoes. 1 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of play shoes, and 1 pair for church. Same with clothes. Keep it simple! I put all of the boys church clothes in one closet. This helps them get ready for church very quickly, and also helps my husband when he has time to dress them. Everything is kept in there neat and orderly, and ironed so things are ready. </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4. Buy USED! Save the difference. If you are a stay at home wife and mother, you know that your job is to help stay within your husbands income. You may have a large budget or a very small one. Either way, it is your job to stay within this budget and do well for your family. If your budget is small, then buying used is the way to go. Borrow items you may need instead of buying. Every year we always borrow my parents pressure washer to pressure wash our house. We wouldn't use it much anyway, so why spend un neccessary money. Same with a garden tiller, a log splitter, chainsaws, etc. I know you can't borrow everything and it is nice to have things of your own, but if you think about it, much of our tools and equipment just sits in the building or garage. </span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></span></center>
<center style="text-align: start;">
<span style="color: #555555; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: rgba(239, 239, 239, 0.5); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">These are just a few ways to begin living a simple life. I believe that is why the Amish communities have grown so much with tourists. Our worldly ways are becoming too much for most people. We all crave simplicity! </span></span></center>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am seeing so many blogs having updates on their garden progress. I want to share with you what we have chosen to do this year. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the past few years our boys have really enjoyed going to our local farmers market. They have talked to us about the business side of it, and want to contribute to that. So in an effort to help their endeavors, we planted two gardens this year. We are hoping that the second garden will be for them to sell at the farmer's market. Mostly in that garden is a lot of corn, and potatoes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ccGYEvuCxdE/WMVHb5ccYRI/AAAAAAAAK3o/B1J9Ft59O3sPNT_QvGzRCcE7-A_586-SwCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/Picture_20170312_090449856.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="395" data-original-width="395" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ccGYEvuCxdE/WMVHb5ccYRI/AAAAAAAAK3o/B1J9Ft59O3sPNT_QvGzRCcE7-A_586-SwCPcBGAYYCw/s400/Picture_20170312_090449856.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In our other garden are plants that will be processed for our family to eat. We have potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, green peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, banana peppers, strawberries, and zinnia flowers for decoration. One of our favorite things to do in the summer is work in the garden. It brings so much satisfaction to see the fruit of your labor. Or in this case, vegetables :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Our boys all take turns watering the garden each evening if we've not had any rain. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Our weather is looking good for the garden this week. 84 and raining for about the next 6 days or so. Every time it rains, our trees and garden looks so much more green than the day before. Ohh how I love this time of year!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The grass is growing so fast! I have been mowing it with our push mower, and our oldest son who is 9 helps me with the weedeating. However, with so much land this is proving to be quite the task to keep up with. Every other evening we are mowing or weedeating some area on the property. I was sure thankful to see the rain for the next week so we can get a little rest for now. I'm sure when this rain is over, we will surely have our work cut out for us. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This pregnancy has flown by! I am now 24 weeks with just 14 more to go.</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
As this is my fourth pregnancy, it has gotten a little harder each time. This time I am blaming age :) But, I have felt pretty good overall and for that I am thankful. </center>

</center>
<center>
We always have changes going on around us. Every single day there is some sort of change. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
Our mood changes. Our thoughts. Our Motives. Our Talents. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
There is always change in our revolving world here on earth.</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
What happens when you get a change in your home that REALLY changes things?</center>
<center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rzfgCFlRY_8/WOqA6imFW3I/AAAAAAAAK7g/qZDlqgSBKVMBgMqYJP0EaMAAdcB3QKfkQCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/20170405_154435.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rzfgCFlRY_8/WOqA6imFW3I/AAAAAAAAK7g/qZDlqgSBKVMBgMqYJP0EaMAAdcB3QKfkQCPcBGAYYCw/s400/20170405_154435.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<center>
</center>
<center>
How do you react?</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
I guess that is the REAL question. How do we REACT to the change. </center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
I know many of you that read here are mothers and wives like me.</center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
Over the past few months we have went through a change in my husbands work schedule. At first it seemed minor. But after we are having to live it, it seems huge. Then other days, it seems minor again. It is easy for us to feel sorry for ourselves. Like this is the end of the world. </center>
<center>
</center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0G2xibdABeQ/WRNYryZSGNI/AAAAAAAAK9M/moSKhriAgIYStweQ1ZQ_XBTsgJa3yMCkwCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/20170428_122430.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0G2xibdABeQ/WRNYryZSGNI/AAAAAAAAK9M/moSKhriAgIYStweQ1ZQ_XBTsgJa3yMCkwCPcBGAYYCw/s400/20170428_122430.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<center>
</center>
<center>
Being at home alone with the children for many weeks at a time gives you a real eye opening experience. You realize just how much your husband helped in the evenings. How much his comforting words at night were needed. How you long to have a good adult conversation with your spouse again. How many more days will daddy be gone for work. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
All we can do is pray. Give it to God. Hope that whatever change we are going through, that we will be strong. I don't pray for my husband to magically get a new schedule. I pray for strength for me, him, and the children during this big adjustment. I have realized I am not super woman, nor am I perfect. But I can give it my best for my children and husband. Be the wife and mother that God is allowing me to be. Be blessed for a working husband who always honors his work change. Good or bad. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
</center>
<center>
So with that, I am choosing to embrace change. To find the positive in it. For when my husband comes home, we will rejoice that his work is done for a bit. We will cherish the time with him even more. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
</center>

<br /></center>
<center>
Today, I would like to talk about having a family dinner time.</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Is this something that your family does?</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
It is easy for families to turn to other things as their "family" time.</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XYaRPnYIMCU/WSDZYUe-YhI/AAAAAAAAK-A/bGCW_E_HT20Ft_0BnijtP7c4J2XFakt_gCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_20170520_121157_806.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="747" data-original-width="747" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XYaRPnYIMCU/WSDZYUe-YhI/AAAAAAAAK-A/bGCW_E_HT20Ft_0BnijtP7c4J2XFakt_gCPcBGAYYCw/s320/IMG_20170520_121157_806.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<center>
</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Clean up the dinner mess, and plop down on the couch for some TV time?</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Or does everyone go in their different direction after dinner?</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Or is mom always left with the dinner mess, while all the children scatter away to do whatever they want to do in the evening time?</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
As a family we have many choices to make. How will our evenings look?</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
In the past I have taught in the public school here and there. When the topic of dinner at the table come up in a story or in a piece of text, I would always ask the students what dinner time looked like for their family. Boy was it heart breaking!!</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Wfn8RdLeGlM/WSDZXe89j6I/AAAAAAAAK-A/QF8H_-rc0XAbp-aKiXaDWYOy_5ayqct8QCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_20170520_121157_800.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="747" data-original-width="747" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Wfn8RdLeGlM/WSDZXe89j6I/AAAAAAAAK-A/QF8H_-rc0XAbp-aKiXaDWYOy_5ayqct8QCPcBGAYYCw/s320/IMG_20170520_121157_800.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
It sure made me change my attitude about dinner time. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
So what, it's just dinner time. But no, to children it does mean a lot!!</center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Many children would share with the class about how their family rarely eats at the kitchen table. They would share different ways they have dinner. Some would eat in the living room around the TV. Some would not really eat dinner but just have snacks. Some would even be allowed to take their plate to their bedroom. Mind you, we live in a very rural area of WV and much poverty happens here. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
What would the LORD have us do for evening dinner time? </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
I believe if he were to talk into my home, he would love nothing more than to see us gathering around the table talking and eating our meal. No TV. No noise. No phones or radios, toys or homework at the table. Just the family and food. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iCuzkKxVkNg/WSDZYA8z56I/AAAAAAAAK-A/TjupP3AHSogR9NM6lTdRO41n_DSseSiEQCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_20170520_121157_802.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="747" data-original-width="747" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iCuzkKxVkNg/WSDZYA8z56I/AAAAAAAAK-A/TjupP3AHSogR9NM6lTdRO41n_DSseSiEQCPcBGAYYCw/s320/IMG_20170520_121157_802.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
The children expressed to me after they shared their home life, that they would love to sit around the table with mom and dad. Mind you, this was a year in Kindergarten. Little 5 year olds, yearning for that time with their family. How I would love to have had them into my home for a sit down meal. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Eating in a car fast food is no place either. On occasion when we pick up dinner after Sunday evening church, we will bring it home and sit at the kitchen table with it. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RJe9b9ROuF4/WSDZX6VnlRI/AAAAAAAAK-A/vLKFYj0ykxY5AJaYEtuzCSD6GSLrhQTMwCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_20170520_121157_820.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="747" data-original-width="747" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RJe9b9ROuF4/WSDZX6VnlRI/AAAAAAAAK-A/vLKFYj0ykxY5AJaYEtuzCSD6GSLrhQTMwCPcBGAYYCw/s320/IMG_20170520_121157_820.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Be careful of how you choose share your family meals. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Many evenings, my husband is not home at 5:30 and wont return from work until 8pm. He has expressed that is too late for the children to wait on him, and so we eat at our normal 5:30 when he is gone to work. Even with him gone, we all sit at the table. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Even if I have one child at home because the others have went for an evening with their grandparents, we still sit at the kitchen table. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
Look at them. Talk to them. Share stories, and talk about the day. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
I learn so much from my older boys days, at the dinner table. It is a place that everyone opens up. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
It really does mean a lot to the children and I'm sure it will brighten your life as well. </center>
<center>
<br /></center>
<center>
**I share with you our pictures of picking strawberries last summer. Such a family fun experience. I thought we had WAY to many when we went to the cash register. I was nervous this was going to be expensive. It turned out to be ok, and I thought how will we eat all of these. We brought them home and as a family cut the tops and washed them. Put them in freezer bags. They didn't last 2 months :)</center>

It has been a very wet Spring so far here in West Virginia. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We have gone from 70 degrees, to snow, to rain now. We have a forecast of rain and 58 degrees for the next two weeks or so. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Our Easter forecast looks to be dry. Praise the Lord!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HHyYWIWXS4E/WNkXCV8X4hI/AAAAAAAAK44/RFt2SyXqJEogQ-y7qeLvTV11RqA4z5y_ACPcBGAYYCw/s1600/c66240e734b4dae3fdc7ac1411b07326.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HHyYWIWXS4E/WNkXCV8X4hI/AAAAAAAAK44/RFt2SyXqJEogQ-y7qeLvTV11RqA4z5y_ACPcBGAYYCw/s400/c66240e734b4dae3fdc7ac1411b07326.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We have many projects for the upcoming weeks. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We have been:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-Preparing for new carpet in our home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-Hoping to buy a tiller to till the gardens better.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-Painting a few rooms to spruce them up!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-Finishing our bonus room project a little at a time.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm sure most of you know that are on a tight budget, that projects take time. We have been praying and steadily getting our bonus room finished that is above the garage. We wanted it to be finished before Christmas but we are no where close. I have learned through marriage and life, that projects take time. Especially when you are not going into debt for them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RaU8pDHtSUA/WOPem3jHDnI/AAAAAAAAK5g/CIgovvTBoGcR8Jg2RfLZMrWMNx05tBEkwCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/5b3e2c4ca543f266b80d615a1d24bd6b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="675" data-original-width="900" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RaU8pDHtSUA/WOPem3jHDnI/AAAAAAAAK5g/CIgovvTBoGcR8Jg2RfLZMrWMNx05tBEkwCPcBGAYYCw/s400/5b3e2c4ca543f266b80d615a1d24bd6b.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have a few flower beds that need spruced up as well. That is my love!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love to make a new flower bed and enjoy adding to it here and there. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We were at Lowe's today, and those spring pansises are calling my name. But I held off :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Around 3:30/4:00 I begin the dinner process each night. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am thankful to be able to do this.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I know it is a blessing to have dinner on the kitchen table. We pray for the children in the schools that aren't having a meal around the table. It is such a great time for conversation and sharing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EBbxYfnMobc/WL27KL4LmsI/AAAAAAAAK1k/svTrR4_kDUw3EXknn2RgIz-Z2WvpiN3xwCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/847782576903fc1ca1a81b9d9f01e631.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="428" data-original-width="273" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EBbxYfnMobc/WL27KL4LmsI/AAAAAAAAK1k/svTrR4_kDUw3EXknn2RgIz-Z2WvpiN3xwCPcBGAYYCw/s320/847782576903fc1ca1a81b9d9f01e631.jpg" width="204" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hear of many families who sit around the living room, while watching TV. This upsets and saddens me, as I know the Lord would have us sitting together while sharing a meal and conversation.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tonight, I am taking a meal to a dear family friend of ours. They are in deep sadness over a situation.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is always my hope that I remember how important it is to share a home cooked meal with others when times are difficult. I know after having babies, it's always nice to have a meal brought to the home. There is just something about dinner that is special. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”</b></span></span><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Vollkorn, Palatino, Georgia, serif; font-size: 20px; text-align: left;"><br style="box-sizing: border-box;" /></span></div>
<center>
A great meal to take to a family is baked spaghetti with salad and garlic bread. That is our meal to share tonight. It is easy to pack up and easy clean up for the family you are sharing with.</center>

I know there are many ideas on Pinterest as well. </center>

<br /></center>
<center>
Have a blessed Thursday!</center>

Here in West Virginia, we have been having spring like weather. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tuesday it was 80 and Wednesday 72. It was so nice to have that warm weather.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q1Dw0q9oKEM/WOPihGpTarI/AAAAAAAAK6Q/lPWipIMuKGMS8VhMHB_c3zY2oNJ6c9kmQCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/IMG_5838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1066" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q1Dw0q9oKEM/WOPihGpTarI/AAAAAAAAK6Q/lPWipIMuKGMS8VhMHB_c3zY2oNJ6c9kmQCPcBGAYYCw/s320/IMG_5838.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can't wait to get outside and get my flowers planted, and our garden going. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is a lot of work but very worth it. I miss the green grass between my toes, and being able to take long walks to the fishing hole that my boys enjoy. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What about you??</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Are you itching for Spring?</div>
