Halloween Eve

Yep...your eyes are not deceiving that is SNOW!
It is October and it snowed almost 4 inches here in West Virginia. The cold front came in from Hurricane Sandy and pushed wind and snow our way. When the boys woke up they couldn't stop looking out the window. Thankfully Kevin was off work and we could get out that morning for a little sledding and fun!

They loved being pulled by the 4-wheeler. Something that I did when we were growing up and it is so fun to watch the boys have fun with it too!!

We came back in for some hot chocolate! The boys love it, but use up alot of marshmallows. Probably not the healthiest snack but it is so good on snow days.

We stayed home on this day because of the snow and we really didn't have any plans anyway. After our sledding and lunch we all took naps. Well besides me...I did laundry :) But the boys and Kevin took naps and woke up in time for dinner.

We had spaghetti and then decided to carve some pumpkins with Kevin's help.

Of course just a simple knife wouldn't be ok...you have to break out the power tools with Kevin. The boys loved drilling holes in the pumpkin. They could have cared less about the goop inside or making a funny face. It was all about the power tools.

Kevin wanted to create this great pumpkin creation and it turned out to be really bad. So he cut a hole and put it on his head! HA Seriously? The boys and I were dying laughing.

We had a fun Halloween Eve at home with the snow and pumpkin carving.

On the 31st we had a preschool morning and here is Karson before we headed out.

He is still very picky about his clothes but agreed to wear this last Halloween shirt for mommy. I had him another fun glow in the dark skelton shirt that he down right refused to wear so we agreed he would wear this ghost shirt. I tell you....boys are high maintence about their clothes.

He said "Mom can't I just wear a baseball shirt or something?" lol it was kind of funny but I told him just 1 more time with a Halloween shirt.

Here is another Halloween shirt that I made for them and had their name monogrammed. I wanted to add it so that I remembered. I am a total junky for seasonal clothes for the boys. I LOVE them!

Tonight is our actual trick or treat night. It got changed to Nov 1 because of the snow storm. We would have been trick or treating in the snow if they kept the original date of Oct 30.

The boys are excited to "knock on peoples door". Kevin has to work this evening so we are taking Papaw Brad along with us. I feel like Halloween has been going on for weeks!
I am ready for it to be over :)

Pumpkin Carving Playgroup

It's been scheduled for a few months that I would host the Pumpkin Carving playgroup for our Mother's Club. So I got 15 pumpkins ready for our little friends to come over and carve them out in the garage. I know the pictures are no fun because they are of a yucky garage....BUT all of that mess with toddlers is easier outside.

I thought the boys would REALLY enjoy this...but I was a bit surprised when they suddenly left me to do all of the work. Neither of them wanted to get the "goop" out. I was so shocked because MESSY is their thing. They wanted to play with their friends who also left their momma's to do all of the work, but we had a great time carving and talking while the kids played.

I managed to take a few pictures amongst the chaos of trying to watch my 2 boys and carve a pumpkin, take pictures, and talk to my mommy friends.

The hit of the playgroup was this corn table. I got the idea from a local pumpkin patch and we had our water table that we put up for the winter but I dug it back out and loaded it with Kevin's deer corn. The kids LOVED it. If you are OCD about messes this is not for you. That is why it's NOT for me and I tried to stay away from that side of the garage. My Type A personality kicks in and I want to constantly clean the little corn kernels off of the floor but I wanted them to have fun and not worry about the mess.

Kipton had a blast with his friends!

The kids were happy and hipped up on cupcakes and yummy Halloween snacks.

I'm so thankful for the Mother's Club. Another fun festive playgroup for both the kiddos and the mommy's. Next week is our Halloween costume party! Can't wait :)

Karson says = SUCCESS!

Fall Friday

I guess nothing says FALL more than hunting season....right?

Kevin has been off work and had his first bow kill. He is so happy to have our property to hunt on and be able to go early and not drive anywhere. The boys were so happy to get outside around noon to find this. I know....it's a little weird that I am totally ok with a dead deer, but when you live with 3 boys it's kinda just "normal". It really doesn't bother me. (I know some of you may un-follow me, but it's just a hobby and I know there are LOTS of men who do it and it's pretty good meat too :)

We have been in full "FALL CRAFT" mode. Thinking of daily crafts to do with the boys is pretty fun for me. Yesterday we painted pie pumpkins. They LOVED it!

Look at that smile and those eyes that are squinty! Karson has really shown here lately some different traits that he may have in his personality. A little shy, loving, very kind and giving, thankful for gifts and family, and a little ok VERY attached to momma.

After the painting of pumpkins got a little old, it was on to the hands for hand prints.

Of course I gave the boys baths BEFORE this......that was a little dumb but hey I try to stick with the routine and we had a little time to kill before bedtime so painting pumpkins it was.

Hope everyone is enjoying fall activities and crafts!

We got flu shots today...what fun with a 3 and 2 year old but we lived :)

Mountaineer Boys

It's no lie that I am outnumbered with my 2 baby boys and a husband in the house. It is evident every single day that I share a house with all boys: (pee on the seat, leaving clothes all over the house, eating everything we own in 3 days)

It is also very evident that I am also outnumbered when it comes to sports. My boys LOVE being just like their daddy and rooting for their Mountaineers.
I am thankful that they love college football like we do. Just wish it were a little more green!

Friday, Karson had jersey day at preschool. This is the outfit he wore. I didn't get any pictures and I was pretty upset about it but he continued to wear it all day so it was alright. I subbed this past week on Thursday and Friday so Kevin had to take him to preschool. He did great! He wanted to take a snack for his friends so I packed up 30 Halloween Gummy snacks. He LOVED sharing and took it in so happy Kevin said. I think the jersey day + the gummy snacks made his morning so special.

We decided to go out for a Family Date night on Friday. We took the boys mini-golfing. It was so fun to watch them and they really enjoyed it!! I was so surprised at how well they did. Kipton didn't really want anyone to hit their ball and kept taking our balls and holding them. We knew we wouldn't be keeping score, but mainly just teaching them a new hobby and they really loved it.

Then we ate at Cracker Barrel and they boys did GREAT!! It was the best they have ever done in a restaurant. A+

All of the training, talking, discipline seemed to be for something after we left that restaurant. We had 3 different couples tell us how well behaved they were. :) I wish they would be with us all the time and they would see that we are FAR from perfect, but TRYING to do our best at teaching our boys to behave especially in public places.

Since today is the actual Mountaineer game, we had to dress in WVU gear again.

We were invited to Kevin's aunt & uncle's house to pick some pumpkins in their garden. It was so fun and the boys had a blast.

Looking at his huge pumpkin patch. Uncle John ALWAYS gives the boys big suckers and Karson wouldn't let go of his. That is the first question they have for him is if he has any suckers.

We ended up coming home with 8 pumpkins straight from his garden. I was so happy to get them because the boys and I are hosting a "Pumpkin Carving" party for our Mother's Club. They will be put to good use in a few weeks.

I LOVE all things fall. Pumpkin picking, college football, and cute boys being 3 of them!
