New Blog Design & Petting Zoo

Do you notice anything different about my blog?? Yep! I took the plunge and got a new blog design. Thanks to Miranda with Little Sailor Designs. Check out her blog to find her designs.I love it!! Thank you so much Miranda. You are great at what you do.

OURNESTINGPLACE

Our new routine started this past Monday. I am taking 2 classes towards my education degree. This is probably the hardest semester yet because of having two boys now. (who both are busy, busy bees) But we will push through this semester just like all the rest. With just 2 classes to go until graduation...I can DO THIS! (that is what I'm telling myself every morning & night).

Here are a few pictures of the boys:

Loves to brush his teeth but HATES for mommy to do it.

Mr. Charmer

Kevin has worked all weekend so Saturday I took the boys to the petting zoo.
We got to tour the museum and all of the animals.
They LOVED IT! Will have to do it again with Kevin.

Kipton LOVED petting the animals. Especially the sheep.
He was even pulling their hair he liked them so much.

Happy Boy.....NOT happy sheep :)

Karson was actually kind of resistant to pet the animals.
He has never been scared of animals but the sheep really scared him because he was soo loud when he would "BAAAAA"

They had an awesome playground. The boys played on this train for 30+ minutes.

We had a great time at the petting zoo/museum and can't wait to go back.

Here are the boys before church this morning. Nana made them matching outfits.

iPhone Pics

Dormer being put on the top of the roof. It will have a window in it.

Trying to get Karson in a picture.

The kitchen area

A quiet ride for momma. We have been battling allergies again. I thought Karson just had spring allergies but I guess we are now having the changing trees allergy problems. I have never had allergy problems so I am really new to this whole thing.

Karson watching the "big boys" in the neighborhood while they race their bikes.

Sweet Kip!

Going for a little 4-wheeler ride

Fishing

I think this is the end of summer. The evenings are getting really cool now and I think fall is on the way. I really love fall but kinda bummed that winter will be soon following.

13 Months

I was thinking about Kipton's baby book and always get that sick feeling in my stomach like I haven't been true to it. As sad as it is, it is much easier and faster to type than to write. I do NEED to get it up to date though. I have most of the memories/dates wrote down but not in the book.

I'm sorry Kipton. Everyone was right about the 2nd child. You are busier and don't get around to a lot of things you could when you just had 1 child.
So anyway, here is my little update on our precious boy at 13 months.

  • You went to the doctor last week for your 12 month appt.
  • You weigh 24 lbs. You are 62% in weight, 52% in height, and 91% in head circ.
  • You have always had a large head but the dr. says its been proportional and is growing just fine.
  • You wear a size 4 diaper. You wear 18 month clothes. But I am pretty sure you are needing 24 months in the shirts here soon.
  • You are walking EVERYWHERE and into EVERYTHING!
  • You are almost running! I can't believe it.
  • You love your brother more than anyone. After about 1 hour of being awake you are going to the stairs trying to knock the gate down so you can get upstairs and wake up Karson.
  • You take 1 nap now. I try to stretch you out to 1pm so you and Karson will nap at the same time. Sometimes you can't make it and crash after I feed you lunch.
  • You sleep from 8:30-7:30am.
  • You still take your paci and your little blankie.
  • You are a wild man with a huge temper. If Karson walks away from you too fast or you are grabbing at a toy that Karson has you SCREAM!!
  • You are saying some words now. Momma, Daaaa-deeeee, Cho Cho, Shishy (fishy), Dog Dog, Ashes Ashes (we are singing that song alot these days), Juice. You will pretty much say anything we ask you to repeat.
  • You love being in the backyard playing in your baby pool or your little slide.
  • You love taking walks and bike rides.
Even though you have a huge temper and really know how to throw a fit already you are still cuddly and loving. You are kinda lazy in the mornings and will lounge around with momma. You are a sweetheart and we are so happy to have you!!

Embrace the Camera

I am going back OLD SCHOOL with this picture. It was from Karson's 1st birthday.

Here is Kipton on his 1st birthday!!

Both of the boys!! I can't believe I am a mom to these two incredible boys!
They are so fun and I'm so happy to be able to stay at home with them each day.
Love watching them play together and learn before my eyes.

New House Update

I am so happy to have this blog to update the new house progress.
I don't think I would be able to write it all down and get all the pictures printed out
as fast as things are happening.

Here's what is going on:

The roof is on and the shingles should be put on this week.
The whole inside of the house is all framed up.
There are 4 windows on the front of the house plus the big front door but
that hasn't been cut out yet.
8/14/11

Side of the house - 2 more windows to be cut out.

Kevin and my Dad have been working VERY long hours. They have been putting in the gas and water line.It has to be ran 1200 feet which is a LONG way. They have dug the hard part of the ditch with a excavator because it was in a creek bed and very rocky. They had to put the water and gas line in this padding where it was going to be in the creek and meet all the requirements from the gas and water company. It sure has been a big job for them. We have been up to see their progress and bring them drinks and food. Thankfully it has been cooler weather and it hasn't been so hard on them. Karson of course is very interested in the "pipe" work that Daddy and Papaw are doing. Just one more step towards our dream home.

I wish I would've taken a picture of what I've been doing besides chasing the boys.
While the boys nap at my moms I have been mowing and weed eating the land by the house.
4 acres is a lot more to mow than just our backyard that we have now. It sure will be a job to do each week once we move there. But that is the fun in country life I guess. You are never bored and there is always some kind of work to do. Then shortly the boys will be old enough to help us out with the farming chores.

That's all for now. Hope to get some pictures this week of SHINGLES and
even some windows being hung up!!

Kipton - 12 months

Kipton turned the big 1 on July 20th but he just now went for his 1 year well visit. Our pediatrician has been super booked and this was the earliest he could get his appointment. It was a special time with just Mommy and Kipton. It always feels like such a difference when you have just one of your children. He was surely loving the fact that he could blabber away in the car ride there and not have Karson to interrupt him. Boy was he a jabber box. Too cute!!

His stats for his 12 month visit were:

Weight: 24 lbs 3 oz

Height: 30 1/4

Head Circ: 48.5

He was in the 53% for weight. 62% for height and 91% for head. She said his head is big but it is really proportional and that he looked great. His development and interaction was great. Overall a great checkup...besides the shots. We have been taking it kinda easy this evening and he even had 2 naps today due to the shots. Overall a great day!

*No I am not going to the doctor today. Are you crazy momma?!*

*Ok it's not so bad. Kinda fun!*

Weekend

A busy weekend for Kevin while he worked on putting in the gas
& water line in for the new house. The boys and I kept busy. Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Instagram style! (a new iPhone app for pictures)

An evening stroll around the neighborhood.

After a good time at church.

Shopping with momma!

As I post this I realize I don't have many pictures of Kip. He is here with us just normally being his wild and crazy self :) Karson has really started to want his picture taken so he can see it! A little vain?? Haha he may take that from his Daddy who used to LOVE looking at himself in the mirror when he was a little boy :)

That's all I have for now. Kipton finally has his 1 yr well visit tomorrow. I am excited to know his stats.

Embrace the Camera

Today I'm sharing a picture of:
(L to R)  My wonderful husband Kevin of 4 years, Me, Erin, and her boyfriend Josh.

Kevin and Josh went to high school together.
Erin and I met through teaching the flag corps & majorettes at a school in WV.

We hooked them up and they have been dating ever since. I am REALLY hoping they will tie the knot soon and then have lots of kiddos. Erin is a GREAT candidate for motherhood.

Hope they are enjoying their vacation. Bummer that they didn't invite us :(
Just kidding...love you guys!

Tempers and Park

Not much going on around here besides enjoying the summer and keeping these boys busy and happy.

As Kipton approaches 13 months he is nothing short of a wild man! Boy does he keep me on my toes.

The boy knows how to throw a fit. Not just a little cry or whine, but an all out drag out FIT! He has won the gold when it comes to the champion of fit throwing. No exaggeration either! He knows what he wants and he surely IS going to get it.

 - If big brother has something he wants....a fit is thrown!
 - If big brother walks away too fast and he can't get his little legs to work fast enough...a fit is thrown!
 - If good ole mom doesn't get his juice and snack fast enough...a fit is thrown!

BOY KIPTON! Your big brother did not prepare me for a fit thrower like yourself. He never did this. But I sure do love you! You still like to be cuddled and held which is a great part of your day.

Karson's newest wish for his days: "Wanna go to the park Mommy?"
Chick-fil-a has been replaced (for now) with the park.

The highlight of the trip

Love to swing at the park even though we have swings in our backyard?
I just don't get these boys sometimes :)

Gotta love boys. They are never picture ready.

Even though we are facing a temper stage with Kipton he is still my little buddy.
They are both nothing short of amazing!!
