The Week of Christmas

Just a hodge podge of events leading up to Christmas.

I have loved Christmas this year. It hasn't been as stressful in years past and it all started with ME. I found that Christmas wasn't stressful it was ME that was stressful.

Mothers make the home. They can make it stressful or peaceful. It all starts with us.

We have bought less. Visited people more. It's amazing how different this year has been.

We have mainly been enjoying our sweet new boy.

All of our boys at our church the Wednesday before church. They had a fun Wednesday for the kids. Santa pictures, games, and pizza. The boys had a great time.

Kevin had a work Christmas dinner on a Friday night. That same morning Karson got sick with the stomach bug. He was throwing up all night and so I couldn't leave him to attend with Kevin.

Kipton decided to be daddy's date that night and they had a great time together. They looked so handsome before leaving.

Kase turned 2 months old on the 21st of December. He is a growing boy!

All of my boys. My life is one picture :)

Hope your Christmas week was well.

The week before Christmas

Just wanted to share a few pictures from our home.

Three boys by the tree.

We have had very warm days here in WV for it to be almost Christmas. One day 70 and feeding chickens didn't seem too dreadful that day.

Kipton and his girls

Sleeping babies are the best :)

Our boy is growing now! Thankful.

Hope you are ready for Christmas!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It's December 11th, and it has been a busy month so far.

The boys enjoy holding their little brother. Kipton especially wants to hold him and rock him. If you can imagine a 5 year old's rocking is a sight to see.

This picture says a thousand words to me.

Blessed. Honored. Thankful. Full.

Just to name a few.
Karson - (6) Kipton - (5) Kase - (7 weeks)

I enjoy having the tree up. It is a beautiful backdrop for pictures. I changed up our tree this year. I used to have a lot of the deco mesh, but it is just not my style anymore. I like simple, clean, and country. My tastes continue to change. Even in my clothes, my tastes are changing.

My big boys looking so big!

Christmas Tree 2015
I put burlap ribbon in between the layers. It has red and gold ornaments and the sweet ones that my boys have made. I have Kevin's deer antlers placed around the tree to give it that country feel. The top has red picks in it with berries also.

Kipton is sure proud of his little brother. He wants his picture taken in front of the tree with Kase often. He is a big helper. Both boys have fed him and diapered him. They help me talk to him and sing when he is fussing in the evenings. They are really a big help to me.

Karson had a program at school this past week. It was about elfs and he really enjoyed the play. However, he is not much on singing in front of large crowds, or wearing an elf hat :)

But he did his part, and it was cute!

I hope your December is going well!

I hope to get a post of my Christmas decorations up soon!

Serving Others this Christmas

As I sit down to write this post, I realize there are many things I could write about.

Children. Jesus. Country Living. Mothering. Marriage. Chickens.

All things that I do love. But all I can think about are those around me that are in need. Especially during this holiday season.

God has shown me this Christmas of many that are in need. People that live right in our city. Right in our schools. Even in my neighborhood.

God keeps asking me:"What are you doing to help?"

We have bought for an angel off of the tree, but it's not enough this year. I can do more. If I can buy a Starbucks coffee then I can buy for another child in need. "Keep giving Keep giving" is what God is saying to me.

So, I am learning to give more. We don't need "extra" things. We need to give to others who don't even have the necessities.

What are you doing to help others this year?

One boy wanted a blanket because his dad and him are homeless and they travel around. A simple blanket.

One baby could use some swaddle blankets because he's outgrowing his but still needs them because he is addicted to drugs still at 4 months.

Another baby is addicted to drugs and could use some stimulation toys to grow his brain.

These requests send me into a heavy hearted momma. My boys have everything they need and want. I'm sure your children do also.

Let's all push ourselves to do more.

We can be the hands and feet of Jesus

Catching Up!

We have had our new sweet boy for 4 weeks now. Here are a few pictures of his life so far. We have had some weight issues but thankfully with good guidance and God's help, we are back on the upward side of things. Kase started out at 7 lb 6 oz at birth and got down to 6 lb 9 oz because of being a lazy eater. He has started picking up and thankfully is up to 7lb 14oz now. I won't sugar coat things and say I have been just ok with this. I have truthfully been worried, scared, and have cried many a times. However, I have faith in God that he will watch over him and provide him with a healthy life.

He is really a great baby. He is calm and loves to look around. He is very alert, and watches our older boys very carefully. He turns his head when he hears their voice.

Our older boys have adjusted well to the new baby. My husband has been AMAZING through this new transition and has kept the older boys living just as normal as we can. He has had time off from work so he took the boys out on the boat one day to fish. They caught 3 nice bass. This is the life I wish for my family of boys. Being outdoors and living a simple life fishing.

They are both learning how to play basketball. Winter is coming, and boys do have A LOT of energy. We all agreed having something to do in the cold winter months of not being able to go outside, a sport would be nice. Learning to play on a team, and listening and obeying their coach is the goal. They are enjoying themselves. It is just one day a week.

I can't help but get sentimental when I think about my family. How wonderful I do have it. I know it has been God's blessing before me. He has helped me through times when I thought I would not have anymore children. He has changed the heart of my husband to agree another baby would be nice. He has brought this baby into the world safely. He has helped us all transition nicely. He has helped the baby through his trials. He has helped me see that I need him each day.

I can't wait to get back to going to church again. Of course we have been extra careful with a new little one and the germs that come along from public places. We try and keep baby on home bound so he can get his weight and age up before entering the world. But I am excited to be back in church each week too!

I am thankful for this blog to have as a journal place. To share about my family, so I will remember our life in each season. I never want to forget.

Halloween in our eyes

There are many ways to look at Halloween. Should we participate in the scary and spooky? Should we not participate at all? Every family has their own convictions.

We do Halloween just for fun. No scary, no spooky, no push to go into anything that they don't want to.

Our boys do enjoy dressing up. However, we are going for the scary or bloody costumes. Karson wanted to be a dirt bike rider because he has gotten into riding his dirt bike this summer. He has never been one to pick a costume that portrays himself as a character and that is ok with us.

Kipton our 2nd born loves dressing into character but we always help him with his choices. This year he chose an armor man like Goliath. He wanted to protect his new baby brother. :)

In the picture above it was Kase's first time to be held standing up by his big brother. I was right near, but it made  Karson feel so good. Kase is 6 days old here.

Kevin took the boys to a safe trick or treat night at their school on this night. They had the best time and got to spend some time with just daddy and them.

I think God is ok with our type of Halloween. We aren't celebrating for the fact that it's spooky or devil like, but just fun for the kids.

October News

Kipton enjoyed his first field trip in Kindergarten last week. They went to a pumpkin patch farm, and then the park for a picnic lunch. He had the best time. Kevin tagged along and helped with pumpkins and lunches. I think it is so important for parents to be known in public school. Most of the time it is the moms only who come to events. However, dads are just as important. My boys know their daddy is involved and wants to be included.

Kevin always does a good job with being very involved in our boys lives. That is one thing God has called him to do. Be a leader of his home.

Our oldest son Karson has done so well this year in 1st grade. It is a big jump from Kindergarten and he has really done well. Last week he won 2nd place in the spelling bee. Not only does this boost his confidence, but he has learned great study habits already. We are proud of him!

We have been prepping and waiting for baby brother to arrive. I was teaching at the boys school in 4th grade, but I finished up last week. I have been home now and it feels so nice. However, I have to say it's been very different to be home alone while the boys are at school and Kevin away at work. They have been my life since birth and now it feels they are gone (even though I know it's just part of the day). I miss them so much during the day and try to stay busy cleaning or running the errands.

They are pure joy! I can't wait to have a third miracle from God! Any day now.
