Fishing season has begun!

We had the best time visiting with friends last week and going fishing at Beech Fork Lake with the kids and friends. Erin and I packed up our dinner to grill and we headed out. After dinner we were in front of an amazing sunset. It was truly one of God's beautiful creations.

My sweet husband of 6 years. He is so good to me.

Kevin and Josh are fishing NUTS! The are both just eat up with fishing season. Kevin has passed his love on  down to Karson because it is all he talks about here recently. I am thankful for happy outdoors boys.

We packed up some firewood to take with us to build a fire after dinner and roast marshmallows and have smores. But then we couldn't get our lighter working so we had smores that weren't cooked. Hey! You'll take what you get  :) The boys didn't mind 1 bit.

A not so wonderful picture of myself, but I love my family. I am so thankful we are healthy!

A sweet momma duck and her babies all in a row. I can't wait to see some ducks hatch from our momma ducks someday. This was so sweet.

My poor Kipton is such a wild man. He is constantly getting hurt. Right now, with a broken arm (more on that to come). He sure is a mommas boy and while Karson is fishing nuts, this boy is still sticking around mom for a few more years anyway. I am happy about that!!

I am thankful and blessed for many things!

A wonderful husband, healthy babies, great family and friends. Even though I am not a good fisherman or even really like it, I enjoy the time it brings.

So I guess I should say "Welcome back fishing season!"

Summer Evenings

Summer evenings are HOT but boy are they are fun!

Karson loves anything with water so I put him to work.
He LOVED it!

"Let's wash the wagon Mommy." "It's dirty."

Kipton trying out big brothers tricycle. Anything that big brother does
little brother repeats :)

Lots of swimming to stay cool

4-wheeling is always a big hit
(don't worry I was riding behind Karson)

Kevin's favorite thing to do: take the boys fishing.

Even though Kevin is on the Ohio River all day at work he still
loves to take the boys there. They love it just as much!

Both boys...loving life :)

I was not too crazy about this part but Kevin insisted that he would be fine.
He was and he LOVED it!

After coming back from the river....the fishing continues in the back yard!
This boy is ATE UP with fishing.

Maybe Karson will be in the FLW (college fishing)

We had our 1st campfire of the summer
This was Karson's 1st ever campfire and he was so excited.
We put Kipton to bed because he is set on his bedtime but maybe
next summer he can enjoy his 1st campfire.

I don't even know how many marshmallows were consumed.
Here is Karson and his cousin Dane. They are best buds!

What are you doing in the summer evenings?

Catching a Memory

If I could say one thing about fishing it would be "blah!" From the day we met, Kevin has always tried to lure me into his favorite hobby of fishing. However, it has never worked. I think it's many things except for fun. I just can't get into sitting there for days waiting for something. I guess it proves that I'm too much of a busy body to just "sit" around.

And then came Karson, our two year old son. You won't believe what his daddy has done to him? Yep! Made him LOVE fishing.

These picture are from LAST YEAR around this same time of year.

This boy is beyond obsessed. Now that it is summer, Karson thinks everyday is fishing day. The whole 12 hours that Kevin is working he is waiting for his daddy to come home to take him fishing. It is super sweet.

"Mommy.....Daddy take me to dock."
"Karson catch a big SHISH"
"Mommy...Karson's SHISHY pole"

Since this is Karson's favorite hobby I guess I am stuck liking it.
It is so fun to watch him get excited when he thinks he is getting a fish.

At least once a week, or even more, we go somewhere to take him fishing.

Now that Kipton is in our family I normally sit with him and we watch Karson and Kevin.
Kevin was right about it being peaceful, even if you are just sitting and watching.

Last night Karson wanted to take his good friend Lexi along.

Down by the River

Here is a picture of Kipton eating his cracker with Mommy and watching the fishermen.

He is so sweet!

I'm sure there will be many more memories to come of fishing.
