A Vacation at the Beach

Back in January, I mentioned a beach trip to my husband. Giving you a little background info, we haven't been on vacation since our honeymoon 7 years ago. No real reason, just life. Two babies, building a new house, working on the new house, paying down the new house, you know that kinda thing. A beach trip just wasn't necessary, and didn't seem fun with two babies in tow. I felt like it was time, and it would be a blast for the boys with many many memories.

He began planning. He decided a beach trip on my birthday week (May 4th) and Mother's Day would be an even better idea, so he went forward. He's not much of a beach person. He's more of a fishing/hunting/working type of guy. But, he was excited to take us.

We stayed 7 nights in Siesta Key, Florida. It took 14 hours to drive there from West Virginia, and around 17 hours to drive back home. It was the most special week. No distractions! The pictures I am sharing on this post are from my Canon Rebel XS. I didn't take it to the beach much during our day visits, just mostly at night while walking.Walking on the beach at night is one of my favorite things about vacationing!

This guy is just an amazing husband and father. He spoils us!

A beautiful sunset every single night was seriously breath taking.

The boys that made me a mother. Life is so complete with them.

The memories made on this trip will never be forgotten. I couldn't help but think of our great Lord as I looked back on this pictures. What a miracle worker he is!

Have you heard the song "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" by Hillsong United? They sang it at church this past Sunday and it sure is an amazing song. It made me think of our trip. The beautiful ocean and how abounding Jesus' love is for us.

"You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine"

Gorgeous pictures. I totally know what you mean about feeling complete. Happy (belated) birthday and Mother's Day!
