Christmas Memories

We have tried to slow down, but with not much luck. Christmas time is a busy time with friends and family. I do enjoy that!

Sweet Sights

Our sweet boy is 13 months old.
He had just has his bath and I was keeping his head warm from the cold.
We are having cold nights here in WV. Around 18 degrees at night as been the norm.
Keeping the fire going, and the hot chocolate & coffee handy.
I love how the cold keeps us in. It slows us down. My family had warm potatoe soup for dinner tonight. After we made candy cane cookies. Then a family board game. Two rounds worth after the sweet baby went to bed. Ending with a baths and bible study. My kind of evening.
We got a little dusting of snow and more to come next week. Hope its a lot! My boys want to enjoy the beautiful white. Wishing for a white Christmas.

November is closing

How can it be? November is gone so fast. This whole year is gone so fast. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Along with all of you, I'm so thankful for my faith and family.

Family Time

I will be gone from this space for a while. It is time to reflect on my family that I've been blessed with.
We are going on a trip to TN for a while. We are all looking forward to it. The devil has been creeping into our plans. Putting sickness into our homes and hearts. Praying that we will all be well in time.
Preparing my heart for Thanksgiving. My focus is going to be on the people in my home. Specifically my relationship with my husband. I love him, and pray that I am the wife he deserves.
I am leaving you with a few pictures from this past weekend.

November

The month of October has come and gone. It is hard to believe.
November is here. I do love this month! Starting to get cool, and the anticipation of Christmas coming is fun.
It seems life has been so busy. I am ready for a slow down. Thankfully I don't have to leave the house for the next 4 days. I love those days. I am a home girl. My husband, not so much. He likes to be busy busy and I tell him it is going to make him old :) haha.
I'll leave you with some pictures of our book cases decorated for Fall.
Enjoy!

Big Boys Update

The boys have been busy the last few weeks with many projects and assignments.

Here they had to create posters on character education traits. They both picked being helpful to others. I would agree this is one of their best traits. We had to include pictures and write a paragraph explaining how they do help others.

Their school also hosted a safe indoor Trick or treat night this week. They really enjoyed seeing their friends in costume.

It was starting to feel like fall here in WV but then it is starting to get back up to 80 degrees in the afternoons. We've had a strange fall so far.

Kase turns ONE!!

Our baby turned ONE yesterday (October 21st, 2016)

Life just flies by.

I pray I am doing everything I can to ensure my boys are happy and knowledgeable about The Lord.

I pray this for Kase too.

He is a sweet boy. He loves his brothers and parents.

He loves to eat! Does not like to be put to sleep.

Kipton (our 2nd son at his 1st birthday)

Karson (Our 2nd son at his 1st birthday)

I think all of our boys have similarities. I love them so much!

Happy Birthday Kase Garrett. WE couldn't love you more!

Revealed! DIY Built in Bookshelves

When we built our house 5 years ago, the plans called for built in bookshelves in the living room. It was to be the focal point of the room.

As many of you know, living on one income always comes with challenges. One of them was that we didn't really need the built ins at the time of the house building, because we had to stay on budget.

So we waited.

5 years went by, and we were still waiting. But, no rush. It would come.

Then some friends came over for dinner from our new church. (we switched churches this summer, that's another post) During that dinner we found out the husband is very handy at building. So he offered his help! My husband is handy, but not with carpentry. This was a huge blessing to us!

We stayed within our allotted budget for this project, and the labor was free.

Can you hear me screaming YIPPEE!! :)

It took them two evenings to complete the project.

I am so happy with the final completed project! It has been a huge blessing to have this completed.

Behind the shelves is bead board.

I love decorating for fall, and I had all of these trinkets already. My mom really loves Halloween, and gave a few pieces for the boys to enjoy.

It turned out way better than I ever dreamed. I had them drill a small hole in the bottom shelf so that I can plug in things like a little lamp, or maybe lights for Christmas.

Hope you enjoyed!

Reflecting

Warm fire in the mornings.

Togetherness.

Special bond between three brothers.

Hugs, and kisses before school begins.
