Kase is 9 months

Oh time, you are moving too fast! Our sweet baby can't be 9 months but he sure is.

  • You started crawling a few days after you turned 9 months.
  • You are happy with yourself to be on the move.
  • You're taking it easy on mom and just moving slow ;)
  • You have had a lot of teething pain and a head cold this month.
  • You really enjoy being home and napping in your own bed.
  • You love to tough the goats and chickens.
  • You are taking 2 or 3 naps per day.
  • We take you on walks down our road and you are so quiet and just enjoy looking around.

You started pulling up to your knees.

You LOVE your brothers!

We are so thankful for this strong close bond.

Happy Birthday Kipton

Today our second born son turns six years old. He is a joy! We are so lucky he is in our family.

He is amazing. He is always thinking of others and a great testimony of living out what he hears. We read the bible and learn new verses and things together and he tries super hard to live them out.

He has a love for animals. He mentions many times that he hopes to be a bull rider someday. He also never wants to live without his big brother Karson.

He has a kind heart.

He goes along with his brother in everything. He adores Karson.

He also wants to be just like his daddy. He wanted his birthday cake chocolate because he knew that was dads favorite. He is always putting others before him.

He is very funny and silly. He actually shares many of the same traits as my husband. Very laid back and fun!

We love you so much Kipton! I can't believe you will be heading to 1st grade this year.

New Goats on our Farm

Image MapAfter our return from the Amish Country, we quickly knew we could really make use of some goats. We have about 2 acres to mow with the rest being woods. Most of that is weedeating.

Those West Virginia hills that we are known for are pretty hard to mow around. There is no way we could own a riding mower so we have a 4 wheel drive push mower and then weedeat the rest.

That is where we are hoping these guys will come into play.

My husband found two twin male goats online. They have been perfect with kids!

Here is our middle son Kipton with Wags.

We have a lot of area still left in our barn, but it needed separated. My husband built a dividing wall and make it into a stall for them. He found that wooden "stool" for them to get onto and look out the window.

The front of the stall. He worked for two days straight to get it ready for them to come home. It looks amazing! They go right into their stall after they have been out grazing.

I'll share soon, how we got them on a great schedule.

Amish Country Pt 2

When we first arrived in Berlin, Ohio we quickly saw a long strip of shops that we wanted to visit. We did some shopping and Kevin soon found himself an Amish hat. He had been wanting on to work outside with for a while now. He looked cute!

Here are some places we visited while in Amish Country.

Guissinburg Cheese Factory

Boyd & Wurthman Restaurant (a little mom and pop place but wonderful)

Guissinburg Cheese Flower Garden

Hershbergers Farm and Bakery

The Farm at Walnut Creek where animals would follow your car as you feed them.

We took a buggy ride with an Amish Man who gave us a lot of neat information. We had fun! Kase doesn't look too thrilled but he was bouncing and making noises the whole ride. He enjoyed it!

If you ever get a chance to research and learn about the Amish please do! It will inspire you!

Amish Country Pt 1

Good Morning!

I have always loved reading and learning about the Amish lifestyle. I have really wanted to go to the Amish country for many years. My wonderful husband made it happen this year.

We just got back from Berlin/Sugarcreek Ohio this past week.

It was about 4 hours away from our home. It was an incredible 3 days there. We packed it full of everything we hoped to do, but still could have stayed longer.

This first place I'm going to share was called Farm at Walnut Creek. It was a spot where you could tour around the entire farm.

Most of their barns and homes were white. Everything was very clean. Their gardens were amazing!

The boys and I inside an Amish home.

At the farm were many animals ranging from zebras to goats to friendly deer.

The view was amazing there. You can see in the background the amazing hills of Amish country.

My husband and baby Kase looking at the donkeys.

The produce stands were also amazing. SO many wonderful kinds of produce that were grown right there at the farms.

I love how simple their life is. I think we can all learn a lot from the Amish way of living.

Since then we have brought home our own goats to the farm. We were very inspired to have animals that can help us out on our farm also. We have a lot of weedeating to do here, so we knew goats would be very helpful. My husband found two twin boy goats and they are getting settled now. I will post soon on their arrival.

Kiptons Baptism

Our middle son Kipton was baptized this past Sunday at our church.

A few weeks ago during our nightly bible time he asked all of the right questions and we guided him into being saved. He was strong and ready and excited!

He knew he had to follow that up with baptism and he was ready for that as well.

He was so excited! He had been telling us days before that it was going to be a big Sunday! Yes, it was!

I am so blessed and grateful that my boys have both been saved and baptized. God is working in our family. I am forever thankful.

God is good!
